birthday luau

We celebrated Emma Taylor's 8th birthday with a backyard luau on Saturday!  She had a ball and I think the other girls did too.  Most of the girls were Emma Taylor's classmates and lots of them hadn't seen each other since school finished up a month ago.

Here are some of the first guests in their grass skirts and leis!  So cute!
Lots of girls!
The whole (soon to be 3rd grade) crew...
Ali Grace, LilyCate, Avery Kate, Emma Taylor, Maddie, Hanna, Sarah, Addi, Lexie and Natalie

They LOVED the Slip-n-Slide!
 Even Harrison joined the fun!
The water at the end of the slide got filthy from the mud hole that the kids created in yard, but they didn't seem to mind!

Time for cake and ice cream...

 Silly girl!
Cooling off with some ice cream.
 Opening presents...

The birthday party was lots of fun and the girls were all so sweet and well-behaved!  Summer birthdays are FUN!  Hope you had a fantastic time at your party, Emma Taylor.  Til next year...

eight years ago....

this baby girl made me a momma!
She went from this precious newborn baby, to this 1st birthday princess...
to this sweet and sassy 8 year old who's big enough to pick sushi for her birthday meal!
Goodness, it seems like it happened over night!

The last 8 years have passed really quickly, but every day has been fun with you in it, Emma Taylor!  I hope you have the best birthday ever.  We love you so much!

happy father's day!

It was great to be able to celebrate Father's Day with my two favorite dads on Sunday!  Lee and I started the day with Father's Day breakfast at Cracker Barrel with mom and dad.  Good stuff...and nobody had to cook!  Dad, I promise to make it up to you and make some of your favorite Rice Krispies Treats soon!  :)

On the porch at Cracker Barrel

After breakfast, we headed over to Dick's so Lee could pick out a new bike for Father's Day.  He got an awesome blue one...the kids were all happy when they all made it home and saw the gift they'd given him!  We've all been riding our bikes in the neighborhood lately, so the new bike was a treat for everyone!

Emma Taylor and Harrison made it home Sunday afternoon, so we set off for a quick bike ride.

After that it was time for some yogurt.  We tried Tutti Fruitti, my new fave place!

It's all self serve, so you can try all the flavors you like.
I tried LOTS!

After all the treats, it was time to cool off in the pool.
Hope everyone had a Happy Father's Day!
