Field Trip to Circle-Y

Emma Taylor's kindergarten class went to Circle-Y Farms for their spring field trip today and they had a blast! It was the first trip to Circle-Y for Emma Taylor and me and we thought it was really neat. Here's a picture of Ms. Carruth's sweet class.

One tired girl!

It's hard to believe this is the last field trip of the year and it's even harder to believe that the next time I go on a field trip I'll be with my first grader! Emma Taylor's having a fabulous year. We love Ms. Carruth and Lawhon School!

Harrison....the Toothless Wonder!

Harrison has been pretty tough on one of his front teeth lately and ended up injuring it so badly that he had to have it pulled. I really dreaded it for him, but he was such a big boy and did great at the dentist yesterday! He never whined or complained and didn't seem to be uncomfortable at all. Now we're getting used to his toothless grin!

He's going to have to heal up for a month and head back to the dentist so they can do an impression in order to make his new "tooth." I'll sure be glad when he's all patched up and back to normal!

On a happy note, Harrison was SO excited about leaving his tooth for the Tooth Fairy last night! Aunt Pat made the cutest Tooth Fairy pillow for us, so he was able to leave his tooth in a spot where the Tooth Fairy was sure to find it. He hung the pillow on his doorknob before bed and hoped for a treat from the Tooth Fairy in the morning.

Harrison woke up with Emma Taylor shoving a $5 bill in his face...I actually think she was more excited than he was! I took him to Wal-Mart to spend his money this afternoon and he picked out some new trucks. What a surprise! :)

Easter Sunday

We had a busy Easter this year. The day started with treats from the Easter Bunny! The kids found their baskets filled with a candy, toys, movies and other fun stuff!

Then we were off to church. Here are the kids ready to go!

Next we were headed to Granna and Papa D's house to have lunch and hunt eggs with Ben and Cameron. The kids had a great time finding eggs full of candy and money. I think the ones filled with money were Emma Taylor's favorite!

Here's a picture of the four of us.

Then we picked Anna Grace and Sarah up and headed over to Aunt Fay's house for the final Easter Egg hunt of the season!

Anna Grace, Sarah, Emma Taylor, Harrison and Makenzie all had a great time hunting for eggs while Brantley napped. I bet he'll be ready for the Easter egg hunt next year. We enjoyed a day full of family and fun!

Pretty Easter Eggs

We've had a busy Easter weekend, but finally had a chance to dye our eggs this evening.

Emma Taylor likes to make her eggs pretty and bright!

But Harrison prefers to dip his eggs in as many colors as possible!

Even though they had different styles, they both had fun dying their eggs!

Happy Easter!

Visit with the Easter Bunny

Mom and I took the kids to see the Easter Bunny at the mall yesterday afternoon. I think this is the first year that both kids were excited to see him! It makes me a little sad that they are both so grown up. Hope he brings lots of treats this weekend!

The kids will be hunting for Easter eggs quite a few times over the next few days. Emma Taylor's kindergarten class has their egg hunt today and Harrison's preschool class has one tomorrow. We'll also be hunting eggs at Granna's house and at Aunt Fay's house before the weekend is over. I hope we have some beautiful weather over the next several days so we can enjoy being outside!

Finally Outside!

We had some beautiful weather this weekend, so the kids took advantage of it. They spent most of the weekend playing outside. They rode their bikes and scooters, played school in the playhouse and even had a flower market where they sold flowers (weeds!) in the backyard.

Here's Emma Taylor getting ready to mow.

Here's Harrison with both fists full of trucks!

Here's Sarah doing the splits....this is so impressive I just had to include it!

And here's Anna Grace flashing her peace sign!

Double Trouble!

Harrison helped the girls pick flowers.

Granna is such a great customer at the flower market!

It's a good thing they enjoyed themselves this weekend. The weather has turned cold, AGAIN!

The Mommy Quiz

The Mommy Quiz has been making the rounds on Facebook and some of the answers I've seen have been really cute and funny! I decided to "interview" my kids and see what they had to say. Emma Taylor is 5 and Harrison is 3, so some of the answers are quite entertaining. Harrison got bored with it pretty quickly, but he still made me laugh!

It will be interesting to see how the answers change over the years. I sure love those sweet kiddos!

Get Down with Mama Goose

Emma Taylor and her classmates had their kindergarten play last Tuesday. The play was called "Get Down with Mama Goose," so the kids sang, danced and acted out several nursery rhymes. The play was really cute and all the kids did a good job. Emma Taylor had a little solo in the play.

To the tune of "Row Your Boat" she sang...

Go, go, go to bed, put your head at rest.
Or tomorrow at school, you'll snooze on your desk!

Here's a picture of her at the microphone...

I was a little nervous for her, but she jumped up on the stage and sang her little tune like a pro! We were so proud of her and she was quite proud of herself too!
