Do I look like a grown up?

When we got home tonight Emma Taylor asked if she could wear some of my shoes for fun. The next thing I know, she's all decked out in hot pink heels, my bright patent leather bag and the ipod. She came into the living room and said, "Do I look like a grown up now?" All I could do is laugh...and snap a picture! I hope she listened when I told her it's MUCH more fun being a little girl!

On another note, it's warmed up a bit so we're finally getting to wear some new spring clothes this week. Emma Taylor informed me this morning that she didn't like the outfit I'd picked out (and ironed!) because the pants were blue. She also said she was sure that her teacher, Ms. Carruth, wouldn't like the outfit either. She said, "What if Ms. Carruth doesn't like my pants, do I still have to wear them all day?" I told her that if Ms. Carruth didn't like her pants she could call me and I'd bring some new ones...of course I was sure that her sweet kindergarten teacher wouldn't tell her she was wearing "ugly" pants! I picked her up this afternoon she was quick to say, "Mommy, Ms Carruth DID like my pants and I like them now too!" Emma Taylor sure has kept me laughing today!

Daddy Daughter Date!

Anna Grace and Sarah had Daddy/Daughter Date Night at church Saturday night. They looked so cute all dressed up and were very excited!

They had dinner, did some crafts and had a fun time with their daddy!

Such a fun night for Lee and the girls!

What Happens in Vegas....

Lee and I were treated to a fabulous trip to Las Vegas last week. One of his sweet clients wanted him to attend a seminar (which turned out to last about 45 minutes!) and she invited us to stay for a few days! While we were there we packed in as much action as we could!

We toured all the beautiful hotels and casinos...The Palazzo, The Venetian, Caesar's Palace, Bellagio and Paris were my faves. Turns out I have lots of favorites! Here's me in Paris waiting in line for the trip to the top of the Eiffel Tower...
We saw some fabulous shows...the water show at the Bellagio, the volcano show at the Mirage and the most wonderful show of all...Cirque du Soliel "O!" This is the show at the Bellagio...

We worked in some shopping and even met Pete Rose at a sports memorabilia store in the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace. Lee collects bobble heads, so he was lucky enough to catch Pete in the store so he could autograph one for him. Really cool!
One day we even took a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon which was breathtaking. Here we are getting ready to take off...

And here's a shot of us during our snack stop in the canyon...

It was a crazy few days, but we packed in as much action as we could! There's so much to see and do, we'll definitely have to take a trip back someday.

Wishing Flowers

The kids were playing outside today and Emma Taylor discovered the "wishing flowers" in the yard. She had a fun time blowing the dandilions and making wishes.

Harrison joined in too...though I'm not sure he knows what a wish is...

Such a fun day to be outside!

Monster Trucks!

As we all know, Harrison is a HUGE fan of monster trucks! Lee and I have been wanting to take him to a monster truck show for some time, but so far they've always fallen on a weekend that the kids are gone. Luckily Lee spotted a monster truck on display to promote a show and since Harrison was spending the night with Granna and Papa D he called to let them know about it. Needless to say Granna and Papa D took Harrison to see the monster trucks and Harrison LOVED it! Granna said Harrison talked about the big tires all night long!

Anna Grace's New Braces...

Anna Grace got her braces on February 24th and looks so cute in them! They make her look so grown up! She's acting all grown up too...she's brushing her teeth with her special tooth paste and is taking good care of her teeth.

We're so proud of how she's adapted...such a big girl! :)

Lunch with my Little Valentine <3

Emma Taylor's kindergarten class invited parents and grandparents to have Valentine's Day lunch with them, so of course Granna and I HAD to attend! They decorated the library with fancy table cloths and center pieces to make it extra festive. Emma Taylor loved having us there for her "fancy" lunch!

After lunch her class stopped to play on the playground for a few minutes. Emma Taylor took a break from playing to pose in her Valentine's Day outfit.

Having lunch with Emma Taylor was a fun Valentine's Day treat!

Our Wild Animals at the Zoo

We had some pretty weather in early February and decided to take a trip to the Memphis Zoo. Lee, Memaw (Lee's mom), the kids and I really enjoyed the day with the animals. The girls liked the pandas the best, Harrison was most impressed by the polar bears, but my personal favorites are the penguins!

I actually think the kids liked the gift shop best since Memaw bought each of them a treat - Thanks Memaw! We became members of the zoo, so we plan to visit several more times throughout the year. What a fun day!

Happy Birthday Sarah and Harrison!

On January 25th we had a family birthday party to celebrate Sarah and Harrison's birthdays. It's so hard to believe they are 6 and 3 already! Sarah asked for a "polka dot and hearts" cake and Harrison requested a "monster truck" cake. The chocolate cakes turned out really cute and tasted fabulous!

The kids had a great time eating, opening their presents and hitting the pinata...it's all about the candy!

When our families get together we have a big crowd and always have a great time!

Honeymoon in Paradise!

Lee and I started 2009 by celebrating our marriage with a honeymoon trip to Jamaica! We were married on October 24, 2008, but decided to wait until the craziness of the holidays were over before we headed out of town. While we were there we renewed our vows and had "wedding" pictures taken on the beach...what a beautiful backdrop!

We stayed at the Couples Swept Away resort in Negril and thought it was fabulous! Our room was just steps away from the beach, the food and service were fabulous and the grounds were lovely...I can't think of a better place to spend a honeymoon! Lee and I definitely want to travel back to Jamaica again!

Still learning...

Okay, so I haven't made it too far with my blogging! Right now I'm still trying to figure out how to add pictures where I want them to go and how to get the layout looking like I want it to. Hmmm...not as quick and easy as everyone made it out to be!

My New Blog!

Today I created my blog and I'm excited about getting started! I think the kids will really enjoy seeing their adventures captured here. This is all new to me, so we'll see how it goes...should be fun!
