our little musician!

Anna Grace decided to join the 6th grade band this year.  She tried all of the instruments and the evaluation showed that she was best suited to play the flute!

She just got her instrument, so she's eager to get started learning.   I bet she'll do a better job than I did when I "played" the flute in 6th grade. I don't think I ever made any pretty sounds, just went through the motions so I could be in the band since it was the cool thing to do.  Ha!

harrison's circle map

Harrison was so excited to finally have a school project to complete at home.  He's been watching the girls do homework and projects for years, so he was glad it was finally his turn!

Harrison had to create a circle map about himself, so we printed pictures (and he drew some himself) to tell the class about his family and some of the things he likes.  He glued all the pictures on himself and even wrote a lot of the words.

He did a great job and was super proud of himself!

family cherry tree

Emma Taylor's class was learning a little about geneaology this week, so they all created a family tree to share with the class.  Emma Taylor decided to put us on a cherry tree!

She had a fun time putting this project together and I think it looks great!

lunch with my boy

I had lunch with Harrison today, which was lots of fun!  His class was really sweet for the most part, but the teachers were hopping the whole time.  I don't know how they do it all day!

Lunch with my big kindergarten boy was definitely a fun treat!

first day of school

The kids started school today and were excited about it!  Anna Grace started 6th grade at Guntown Middle School, the little girls started 3rd grade at Saltillo Elementary School and Harrison started kindergarten at Saltillo Primary School.

Here are Emma Taylor and Harrison ready for the first day.

I thought Harrison might be a little nervous this morning, but he was pumped and ready to go....more importantly, ready for me to go!  I was happy that he was feeling so confident on his first day of kindergarten.

All four kids had a great first day of school.  We are thankful for such sweet teachers and friends.  We love Saltillo schools!
